Rear Wheel Hub Torque Specs

Chevy Traverse Rear Wheel Hub
The Traverse rear wheel hub is held to the vehicle much like the front wheel hubs. There are 3 bolts which go into the wheel hub from the back side of the knuckle. In order to remove the old rear wheel hub from the vehicle you will need to remove the braking system as well as the center axle nut, and then remove the 3 bolts which hold the part on. With those removed you can remove the old wheel hub from the knuckle. Some force may be needed during this step as they often get corroded and stuck. Once removed you can clean up the corrosion and install the new rear wheel hub into the place as the old one and then hand tighten up the 3 bolts. Once all have been hand tightened you can torque them down to 96 ft-lbs. Next the center axle nut can be installed and torqued down to 151 ft-lbs. Finally the braking system can be reinstalled and the caliper bracket bolts can be torqued down to 129 ft-lbs. Be sure that you install the caliper and brake pads correctly. More information regarding that can be found in the brake section found by the link above.

To replace the rear shocks on a Chevy Traverse you will need to remove two sets of bolts/nuts located at the bottom and top of the shock. Both of these fasteners can be accessed from underneath the vehicle by jacking it up and removing the wheel. On the top part there is a single bolt which goes through 2 frame plates and into the shock. To uninstall the old shock simply just remove both of the fasteners sets and the part will come out.
